Tough Enough ’24 cancelled

(Sigh.)

TE is much about the route, which is of uncommon beauty. This year, there too many closures and too much contingency.

Cooper and Jon and I went back and forth on course conditions, safety, and insurance, and regretted not having more difficulty coming to a consensus. It is of course frustrating: we’ve only run one of the past four years.

I wish it wasn’t so.

Average, but not so exceedingly average as to not be average.

  1. Sorry Hart. This is such a special running event – like 9 Trails, also cancelled the last few years. The good news is we’re finally getting some rain after so many years of drought. Thanks for all your efforts towards TE, and hopefully it will happen next year.

      1. Holy ned! Well done! Tough course, tho’ having cool air makes it (for me at least) much more do-able. Safer.

  2. As Hart said, it’s about the course and it’s about having fun, being together, being silly, and tradition. I was hoping to participate, perhaps for the last time, on a relay team as opposed to the “ultra” version, with my family, before I help organize the event with Cooper.

Tough Enough will live on and hope to see everyone next year.

  3. So bummed that TE is cancelled again this year, it truly is a special event! Hart, thanks for resurrecting TE and organizing for the last ~20 years! I’ve really appreciated the event and have run in the event many times after being introduced to it sometime in 2014 or so. I’m glad to hear we have some fearless leaders taking over for the coming years!
