Santa Barbara Tough Enough

Are You Tough Enough is a 65-mile relay along the ridge of the Sierra Madre. It was started by Bob Heubel in 1986; taken over by Patsy Dorsey in the early 90’s; languished for ten years; and was restarted by Hart Kornell in 2005 (or so), based on a chance encounter with a man in a cafe wearing an old Tough Enough teeshirt. The picture above is from the 2007 race, looking north. Looking south would show the Pacific.
